Meet Your Supervisor

An advocate for continuing education, she earned 800 hours of training from the Mississippi Judicial College and credit/training in various accounting courses, all while in office.
Elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023, she serves in her second term as District 2 Supervisor and represents the Board of Supervisors on both Hattiesburg Downtown Association and Hattiesburg Petal Lamar County Metro Planning Organization. A lifelong resident of Forrest County, she graduated from Hattiesburg High School, and attends Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she serves on the Board of Trustees.

Steve has a special connection to the Petal area. A lifelong resident, a 1983 graduate of Petal High School, and owner of Locke Exterminating Co. since 2005! He also attends Petal-Harvey Baptist Church where he sings in the choir! Steve has committed to attend HOA meetings for District 3 neighborhoods, and continues to attend Petal Board of Aldermen meetings as Supervisor to build and maintain a relationship between the two entities, and to stay aware of upcoming projects and needs to potentially partner together on. In addition, to increase accessibility for residents, Steve will be holding biannual town halls for District 3 residents to attend and bring concerns! He prioritizes county expenses, balanced budgets, and low tax bills.

Fast forward to 2006, Roderick, Deborah, along with Calvin McDaniel, opened the ADEPT School which was a nonprofit dropout recovery, vocational, and academic school for students that dropped out of a traditional school setting. In 2008, as Supervisor, he built the facility that houses The First Tee of The Pine Belt, a character development and neighborhood community center for kids ages 7-17. Roderick is a supporter of public schools and continued education, having been described as a “drum major” for literacy!
In addition to these things, he is also involved in a monthly senior citizen feeding program that is organized through local churches. Roderick has been a member of Shady Grove Baptist church since 1969 where his father and grandfather served as pastor, and where his brother currently serves as pastor! Roderick is a deacon for the church, as well as a member of the brotherhood foreign mission and community outreach ministry programs.

Terri owns and manages several businesses. B Communications, which she operated in two states from 1996-2023, and received numerous awards for sales and leadership. She’s also a managing partner for JRReal Estate where Terri manages and owns interests in timber and oil. Terri owns Pregar Construction, LLC since March of 2010 where she enjoys purchasing, renovating, and selling homes for the community to enjoy! She served on the SouthernLINC (a subsidiary of the Southern Company) advisory board for 17 years to provide input about activities in the marketplace.
Terri served as a Commissioner for the Hattiesburg Historic Conservation Commission for the City of Hattiesburg, Chairman of the Board for the Forrest General Healthcare Foundation, President of the Pine Belt Community Foundation Board of Directors, AND served as the Chairman of the American Heart Association for the Hattiesburg area! She currently is involved with the MAS, Vice President of the Forrest/Lamar Alliance Board, President of the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Hattiesburg, Petal, Forrest County and Lamar County and the Area Development Partnership. She received the 2020 Face of the Foundation Award from the Pinebelt Community Foundation, was recognized as a finalist for the Sales and Marketing Professionals Pinnacle Award in 2018 for community involvement and impact, was the National Junior Auxiliary Betty Robbins Volunteer of the Year for JA Region VI in 2019, and Junior Auxiliary Crown Award for Community service in 2018.
Terri is active at her church, Main Street Methodist Church. She has served on the Finance Committee and as a Trustee for the Church. She is involved with the local Kappa Delta alumni chapter and is a lifetime member of the Junior Auxiliary. She also served as chairman of the Presbyterian Christian School PTO when her children were in school. Terri has a passion for serving others, and is very motivated and strong-willed when it comes to getting things done.
